Blues Country
Can anyone recommend some good country blues songs / artists?

Continuing the theme of country blues and not wander into my personal tastes (Well, somewhat): Brownie McGhee & Sonny Terry was a duet for decades playing Piedmont blues country style. Mance Lipscomb Texas was another very good singer finger style guitar picking. Then there is the great Big Bill Broonzy, Leadbelly, Josh White (an active form of fire before his time), Babe Stovall, Robert Pete Williams Bukka White, Mississippi Fred McDowell, Taj Mahal Williams, Big Joe, Lightnin 'Hopkins, Mississippi John Hurt, Son House, Robert Johnson, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Charley Patton and Skip James, just to name a few countries style of blues artists. Some are Delta, Piedmont, some are, some are in Texas and Louisiana.

Merle Haggard - Best Of Country Blues

Merle Haggard – Best Of Country Blues

$7.98

This collection of country blues, ragtime, ballads, and just plain country songs with the word "blues" in the title highlights Merle Haggard`s considerable knowledge of country and popular music history. Haggard puts in assured and often compelling vocal performances on Jimmie Rodgers` early-1930s "T.B. Blues," the Delmore Brothers` mid-`40s "Blues Stay Away From Me," and Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys` "Brain Cloudy Blues," while "Blues For Dixie" is an appealing blend of Dixieland jazz and country.
